Credits & Pricing
All usage — API and playground — is metered in credits.
How credits work
Each model has a credit price per 1,000 input tokens and per 1,000 output tokens (see the Models page). After every request we charge:
credits = ⌈ input_tokens × in_price / 1000 + output_tokens × out_price / 1000 ⌉
Larger, more capable models cost more credits. Your current balance is always visible in the dashboard sidebar, and every charge appears in your usage history.
Free starter credits
When your account is activated you automatically receive 100,000 free credits — enough to thoroughly evaluate every model. When you run out, requests return 429 insufficient_quota.
Buying credits
LinguaChats is fully pay-per-use — no subscriptions. Credits come in one-time packs from 1M credits ($3) up to 250M credits ($450, 40% off) and never expire. Buy a pack from Dashboard → Billing & Credits— checkout is handled by our payment partner Polar and credits land on your balance automatically within a minute. Questions? Email support@linguachats.ai.
